Bollywood megastar and new daddy Abhishek Bachchan was in London this week to talk about his new film thriller film Players. Desi-Box was lucky enough to catch up with him on his promotional tour.
Players is the latest heist thriller offering from the Bollywood mastermind duo Abbas-Mustan. The thriller extraordinaires are renowned for their twists and turns in their films and were last seen in 2008 with the release of action packed Race.
Distributed in the UK by B4U, the Vicaom production is an official remake of the 2003 version of The Italian Job and boasts a mega star cast including Bipasha Basu, Bobby Deol, Neil Nithin Mukesh and Sonam Kapoor.
When Abhishek was asked about what attracted him to the film he exclaimed his praise for the directing duo Abbas-Mustan. Stating that he has always wanted to work with them for some time, and when the opportunity rose he immediately jumped at the chance, even before looking at the script.
Talking about working with his co-stars in the film, he said it was great fun as all the actors are his friends, even revealing that when they are all together they usually get up to mischief.
Abhishek shared his cheeky nature when replying to the question what he was really like in his spare time? Like I am right here now, this is me in person, he smiled.
Dismissing the talk regarding what the unique selling point of the film was. Abhishek explained that I would say if there is only one thing worth selling for the film then don’t make the film. It has to be the entire film.
The 35 year old actor also spoke about the joy of his first born child ‘Beti B’ last year with his wife Aishwarya Rai. Although his daughter is yet to be named, he said that he has been balancing his hectic filming schedule and film promotions with life at home being a new dad as best as he can.
Abhishek Bachchan ended the press conference by stating that Players is an entertaining thriller film and he hopes that the UK audiences enjoy it.
