Bipasha Basu has just signed her first International Project Singularity with English-French director Roland Joffe.
She plays the role of a Maratha warrior named Tulaja Naik, from the 18th century. The flick revolves around the story of First Anglo-Maratha War of the 18th century and includes four characters- an American marine biologist and his researcher lover, a British officer in colonial India and the Indian Women he falls in love with.
It is a $33 million flick and is penned down by Ajey Jhankar. The film will be shot in Australia and India and she will be flying to Brisbane in the first week of November. Bips is one lucky female who had just a brief meeting with Joffe. Sources say he was very impressed with her voice and her personality, and offered her the role.
