After Akshay Kumar was hit hard by fans for not voting followed by the nationality controversy alongside his claim for the national award, the actor is now doing some damage control. Last week Odisha was hit by Cyclone Fani that lead to the destruction of many lives and property, and now Akshay Kumar has Rs 1 Crore to CM Relief Fund for Odisha victims.
People around the country are doing their best to provide some aid to state of Odisha. Several celebs have urged people to show support and now Akshay Kumar has stepped up to donate his bit.
A report in Hindustan Times states a source told the daily, “This is not new. Akshay has always been contributing for causes, be it his Bharat Ke Veer initiative for the armed forces, or his contribution to the Kerala Floods or Chennai floods earlier.”
However Akshay Kumar nor the team has announced about the generous donation. Akshay has previously been part of initiatives like Bharat Ke Veer for the armed forces, where he donated, Rs 5 crore and also donated Rs 1 crore for Chennai Floods’ relief work.
Akshay’s next release is set to be the comedy ‘Housefull 4’ which also stars Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. It’s slated to release during Diwali 2019.
