We recently caught up with the Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh to talk about his new movie ‘Sardaar Ji’ which is out now in cinemas. Daljit describes his character as someone who is able to speak to ghosts and offers to help when people have problems with ghosts.
When Diljit was asked if he was much of a problem solver he joked that he is usually stuck in his own problems and isn’t able to able to offer to others. When we asked Daljit about his experience on set with ghosts he explained it was fun and that no ghosts were harmed in the making of the movie.
The movie itself is a fantasy movie which is a first for the Punjabi movie industry and Diljit explained it took him a while to convince producers to make the movie. The audience must be able to relate to the characters and typically in Punjabi movies it’s a movie about a girl and a boy falling in love which isn’t always possible in fantasy movies. Therefore creating something that isn’t their or is fiction which the audience can also relate to does take some working.
The movie see’s Daljit once again paired with Neeru Bajwa who he explains has a lot of respect for and enjoys working with. The movie which is out now is sure to change the Punjabi movie industry.
