The Omega House played host to Bollywood superstar Abhishek Bachchan on Monday night when the brand’s exclusive pop-up club celebrated Bollywood Night.
Abhishek Bachchan answered questions during a Q&A session at the Omega House on Monday evening on a variety of subjects including his films, the Olympic Games, athletics in India and his role with Omega.
“OMEGA is like a family to me and has always treated its ambassadors like family”, he said. “I’ve never seen the Olympics live and I thank OMEGA for giving me this privilege”.
Abhishek Bachchan said he appreciates Omega’s involvement in social initiatives and charities, and that, coupled with the brand’s attention to precise timekeeping, is something he finds incredibly interesting.
“I don’t have a favorite OMEGA watch”, he said. “I’m very partial to the Seamaster series – especially the Planet Ocean.”
Abhishek Bachchan has been an OMEGA brand ambassador since 2006 and is known for his starring roles in many successful Indian films. He is the son of renowned Indian actors Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan and actress/politician Jaya Bachchan. After attending the Bombay Scottish School and Aiglon College in Switzerland, the Omega ambassador decided to devote himself to acting and within a few years established himself as one of this country’s most popular and successful stars.
Following the press conference, the Omega House turned into London’s own Bollywood, where the staff wore bindis and served traditional Indian food while Abhishek Bachchan mingled with guests in the Omega House Secret Garden.
DJ Philly and DJ Vix set the vibe with music while guests enjoyed performances by a sitar and table player, a Bollywood troupe including three bhangra dancers and a drummer, and a henna tattoo artist.
The Omega House is the Swiss watch brand’s social activity hub throughout the duration of the Olympic Games and is located in the heart of London’s Soho district.
