It’s been a crazy year for Toronto rap artist King Roti. Fresh off the success of his first mixtape of the year The Quick Fix (which has been downloaded well over 50,000 times) and the singles Baby I Believe and Money Cash (now on Much Music), Roti is gearing up to drop his second mixtape of 2010 hosted by G-Unit’s Dj Whoo Kid. The first single off the project is the Young K produced, Don’t Cry featuring Bishop Brigante. The track deals with domestic violence and empowers women in such situations to rise above it. The single will be available world wide on itunes in early July and the mixtape is scheduled to drop shortly after.
Roti was recently a headliner at this years Desi Fest in Toronto and has been building upon his success and fan base in the South-Asian community. Having singles spinning all over the world including BBC radio in the UK, Roti recently inked a distribution deal with Fontana North / Universal through Canadian indie label GCP Recording Corp to release his new projects world wide.
Look out for Don’t Cry hitting airwaves all over the world and the video dropping very shortly.
