After a short hiatus from her solo career and after the incredible success of her debut album Supawoman, the self proclaimed baddest chick in the industry, Hard Kaur is set to release her
first single Desi Dance from her second album. The single sees the influential rapper teaming up with multi million selling Detroit based band D12 and a return to her hip hop roots with the new track.
The collaboration sees Kaur showcasing her intrinsically kooky signatory style, edge and catchy lyrics and supported by D12, the result is fire. The single recorded in Detroit, London and Bombay sees D12 rapping about Indian icon Rekha, Rupees, sipping Maaza and 2 Panjabis in a van.
The main stripped down hip hop mix produced by young British talent Virus 187, sees a musical nod to India with a traditional bansuri laced throughout the track. A club mix courtesy of Kami K sees the track in a new light filled with a commercial disco, electro soundscape that is sure to set dance floors alight.
The video was shot in London between hectic schedules and while D12 were performing in the UK with Eminem.
Hard Kaur explains I¹ve been so mad busy with everything that I¹ve been working on in India which meant that my first love had to take a back seat. I can say that I¹ve made it in India in the mainstream and could be relaxing but my music fans always give me so much love and I just had to do this for them. I wouldn¹t be satisfied if I didn¹t create a record for them. Also, both I and D12 have had busy schedules and I wanted to do this properly and together in the same city so it¹s taken a while.
From Birmingham to Bombay, Kaur actively launched a colossal scale hip hop attack on Asian and introduced to the continent a new concept. The reward?…Indian media hailed her as the saviour of the music scene with her sound being the Œbiggest new musical concept Bappi Lahiris introduction to Disco.
With the Midas Touch in full effect, there is nothing that this British performer can¹t touch that doesn¹t turn to gold.
